The release weekend ahead of us is a quiet one, but that doesn’t mean that the news week behind us was a slow one. Are you ready for a recap of all the biggest stories that popped up on the radar across the past seven days? Let’s talk about the big stuff first. We showed you a detailed gallery of the “Red October” Yeezy 2. That’s right, the first definably legit pair was debuted exclusively on our Sneaker News Select channel. What else happened? Nike dropped off some official images for two exciting new LeBron 11 colorways, some all gold Jordans popped up during the weekend, and we got a better look at the “Maryland Blue Crab” version of Kevin Durant’s sixth signature shoe. The Kobe side of things was a familial affair-Vanessa Bryant showed us once again that shes’ not playing around when it comes to sneakers.
A new Flyknit model popped up, one that will apparently be one the medal stand for US athletes next year. Ronnie Fieg revealed his next New Balance project, as well as a possible Asics that’s around the corner via some on-feet shots. Speaking of collabs, Saucony and Packer are back together on the Hangtime silhouette. And Burn Rubber’s got that killer leather 577 dropping this weekend-one that we showed off over on the Select side of things mind you. We also showed you what was going on behind the scenes with some of the sneaker industry’s biggest names and it went a little something like this: Mark Parker spends his days in sports research labs in Beaverton while Michael Jordan spends them playing beer pong in Miami.
