Ross Dwyer Combining the upper of the beloved Air Max Plus with the cushioning unit of the modern-day favorite Vapormax, Nike’s Vapormax Plus has become one of the Swoosh Brand’s most popular lifestyle Air Max silhouettes. It’s looking to carry its strong 2018 over into 2019, and with fresh releases like this recently revealed “Aluminum” colorway, that should certainly be an achievable goal. The textured synthetic upper calls upon a light bluish-gray color with a very slight gradient fade, starting light at the toebox before becoming darker by the heel. Black plastic overlays serve a dual purpose as eyelets and textured details, and a classic TN badge appears on the heel. The Vapormax cushioning unit is dressed in a jet black, and a black Cushlon midsole acts as an intermediary between the lower halves, separating them just enough so that each part’s design can speak.
