Reflecting on the sneaker scene in the 2010s, the adidas Stan Smith was one of the key players that participated in the decade-defining white trainers trend. The Fairway Green-accented classic is soon to make its return with velcro straps and a Primegreen construction.
The upcoming pair sports a familiar white makeup while forgoing leather uppers for synthetic materials dubbed “Primegreen”. This use of Primegreen means virgin polyester wasn’t included in the making of the model (50% of the uppers are composed of recycled content). Besides the sustainability upgrade, laces have been swapped out for three velcro straps for ease of wear. Signature elements such as perforations that map out the side stripes and the green heel tab and tongue branding remain, continuing the Stan Smith heritage for years to come.
This 1965-style will be available for purchase on March 20th at adidas.com for $85.
In other news under the Three Stripes umbrella, an new adidas Forum Lo is decorated with zebra stripes and holographic elements.
