Whether it be the UK music scene, fried chicken bites from Japanese conveni, or happy…pineapples, the Air Max 90 has served as a dutiful canvas for Nike to test out some funky colorway concepts. Whether it be adding simple patterns on the upper, or completely remolding the heel plate, Nike’s design team has fine-tuned their experimentation with the silhouette as the model entered its 31st year in existence.
That same clever approach appears on the latest Air Max 90 NRG “Venn Diagram”, which features a near full coverage of dots in varying greyscale hues, translucent lace eyelets, and a Venn Diagram of black, grey, and white on the tongue. It could be a nod to that trio’s foundational service to Air Max colorways in the past, or just another playfully weird concept that ended up in production.
Currently, a release date for the Air Max 90 “Venn Diagram” hasn’t been confirmed, but it’s expected to launch this year.
