Jared Ebanks From hairy faux cow prints to calm tonal treatments, the Nike Air Max 90 Futura has proffered a sizable departure from the Beaverton brand’s Max Air rotation. Recently, the restored classic campaigned its contemporary palette even further with a decadent “Plum Eclipse” treatment.
While the vibrant beat-reminiscent hue animates the leather overlay and the full-length nubuck mudguard, a lightened swatch of “Diffused Taupe” fills in the surrounding linen base layer. Attaching the laces, tongue and inner lining to the latter faint treatment, jet-black contrasts draw eyes to the profile swooshes, pull tabs, heel counter and tread. Split between a white forefoot and cream-composed Air Max cushioning system, the brightened fixtures below amplify the muted “Night Maroon” finishes that connect that vamp.
