As sneaker enthusiasts eagerly awaited the Off White Jordan 4 and Grateful Dead Nike Dunks, NIKE, Inc., ASICS, and New Balance teased upcoming releases.
Jordan Brand kept making a case for the oft-overlooked Air Jordan 1 Mid with more multi-colored arrangements. Elsewhere, the Jordan 1 emerged in yet another Zoom Air-cushioned take, as well as in original form from 1985 via Stadium Goods and Christie’s “Original Air” auction. (The 11-lot sale even includes the pair Michael Jordan was wearing when he infamously shattered the backboard in Italy, with glass still in it!) The Jordan 4 was also teased in its UNION LA collaboration, and rumored to launch on August 15th. A look at a “Sail” Off White Jordan 5 also emerged to initial speculation, but to much fanfare.
Nike Basketball demanded considerable attention through not only new pairs of the Adapt BB 2.0 and Kyrie Low 3, but also via the unveiling of both the LeBron 18 and LeBron Soldier 14. While LeBron James’ fourth NBA-title aspirations are yet to pan out, the Ohio-native continues to cement himself as one of the most dominant forces in performance-basketball footwear.
Outside of NIKE, Inc., Ronnie Fieg unveiled the “Tokyo Trio”, a three-pair set of the GEL Lyte III that revisits his “252 Pack” collaboration from 2007. Packer Shoes unofficially teased an upcoming New Balance 992 it’s added orange suede to. A duo of the R_C1300 also surfaced at select retailers in Asia.
