adidas Skateboarding Releases The Adimatic By Jamal Smith On May 14th

The adidas Adimatic may not be as popular as other skate shoes currently on the market, but that isn’t stopping the German sportswear behemoth from reenergizing the silhouette both on its own and with the help of its extended family.

Recently, Philadelphia-based rider Jamal Smith unveiled his take on the 1996 skate shoe. With Smith’s input, adidas covered the majority of the upcoming sneaker in tonal black suede, though vibrant orange lands via the profile 3-Stripes. Midsoles underfoot revert to a pitch-dark arrangement that features the Adimatic’s signature zig-zag design details; tread is reimagined with a semi-translucent gum that delivers style points without sacrificing grip and protection. A lover of skate tricks involving 360° spins (including his own “Tornado Spin”), the Love Park-frequenter added a “repeat” symbol to his collaboration’s ortholite sock-liner, injecting some of his personality to the once-obscure skate shoe.

Enjoy product shots of the pair ahead, as you wait to secure your pair via adidas.com/skateboarding on May 14th for $100 USD.

For more from the Three Stripes, check out the “Turtle Dove” Yeezy 350 ahead of its expected summer retro.
