The Basement’s New Balance 2002R Collaboration Appears In “Moss Green”

The Basement’s New Balance 2002R Collaboration Appears In “Moss Green”

To the uninformed, “The Basement” may not conjure up images of a United Kingdom-based collective of streetwear enthusiasts, but an upcoming New Balance 2002R collaboration should help change that.

While not the group’s first footwear project (New Balance or otherwise), the newly-surfaced pair introduces a bolder color palette than previous work. A “normcore”-friendly black tone covers the tip of the toe and lower heel sections, while taking over the performance-informed sole unit underfoot, too. Shades of the titular “Moss Green” flair, then, animates the mix of materials that make up the majority of the upper, from suede to high quality leather panels. “N” logos at the profiles boast a contrasting white ensemble (as well as raised detailing), with pull tabs at the heel and “BSMNT” branding at the top of the tongue and aglets further showcasing the English collective’s touch on NB’s 2002R design.

Enjoy an official look at the pair here below, and find the shoes releasing exclusively on bsmntstore.com come Sunday, June 26th.
