Under the creative direction of Aimé Leon Dore founder Teddy Santis, New Balances’ historical archives have been combed through meticulously, proffering the return of a multitude of the brand’s heirlooms including the widely heralded New Balance 650R. After taking a short hiatus to focus on its 550R counterpart, Santis and the brand have revealed their latest slate of lifestyle propositions harkening to its revitalization of the Masaryk Community Gym in Manhattan’s Lower East Side.
In tandem with a classic hoops collection including a multitude of apparel pieces and accessories branded with “SONNY NY” insignias, the trio of 650R’s employs a neutral aesthetic with consistent cream undertones. Its laces, mesh construction and vintage cupsole remain identical in shading across each pair while the full grain leather mudguard, quarter and heel overlays render Navy, Dark Grey and Forest Green outfits respectively. Additional steady influences are anchored by a stone-hued heel panel and aged “N” logos alongside Aimé Leon Dore branded tongue tags that differ with each model’s dominant color.
Releasing via raffle at aimeleondore.com on Monday, October 3rd, the trio of 650Rs is set for a retail price of $165. In the meantime, enjoy official images of the collection of silhouettes below.
