A promising upgrade from the preceding model.

Jerry Lorenzo Reveals Upcoming Fear Of God Athletics adidas Basketball Shoes

Jerry Lorenzo and adidas are ready to start anew. Following the release of their first co-designed basketball shoe, one that admittedly fell short of its intended performance benefits, the Fear Of God founder linked up with Complex to showcase two upcoming follow-up efforts.

The next Fear Of God Athletics basketball shoes maintain the design DNA that’s made Jerry Lorenzo a household name, delivering a distinctive blend of luxury and urban style. While the preceding model found itself in the lifestyle genre due to its lack of modern tech, Lorenzo states that the new shoes will be suitable for performance at all levels, bridging the gap between sport and fashion. While specific tech specs allude us for now, the image above showcases a mid-top cut, smooth paneling with stripes detailing, and semi-translucent gum sole underfoot. There’s also another new model in tow that features a similar build with a TPU cage (shown below). Lorenzo calls out the toe box as a key point of emphasis, crafted to be both court-worthy and fashionable.

All told, Lorenzo’s next FOG hoops shoes are said to embody the philosophy of his “ESSENTIALS” brand, focusing on quality, function, staunchly meeting a product’s intended purpose. No release information or official images have been made public at the time of this writing, but know that our Sneaker Release Dates page will be kept current with all the latest info as the new shoes continue to emerge.
