The Nike Air Flight 89 Low Evokes Legendary “Oreo” Colorways

An essential colorway of the AJ4's sibling.

The Nike Air Flight 89 Low Evokes Legendary “Oreo” Colorways

With the Air Jordan 4 cresting to become the most sought-after model in the Jumpman catalog, Beaverton made a shrewd play in the middle of 2023, bringing back the Air Flight 89 model that shares much of its DNA with Mike’s signature. After more than a year on shelves, it’s fair to say the retro basketball silhouette hasn’t lit the world on fire, prompting Beaverton to get creative and unveil a new low-cut build, on display again with the “Oreo” colorway at hand.

In case the reference is lost, the Air Jordan 4 “Oreo,” originally issued as an LS colorway in 1999 before its only retro in 2025, is the comparison point at play. True to that release, textured leather drapes the full body of the shoe, with pure white interruptions at the midsole, collar, various branding spots and thin piping around the lower eyestay panel.

For what it’s worth, the colorway still succeeds even without any ties to the Jumpman; a slightly altered version was one of the first teed up in the model’s retro run, and its monochromatic arrangement was used in its Stussy collection in 2023.

The Nike Air Flight ’89 Low “Oreo” is expected to hit shelves as part of the Swoosh’s Spring 2025 slate, retailing at $140.
