In 2014, when the Nike SB x Air Jordan 1 first launched, the concept was earnestly unheard of, pulling together two entirely disparate and separate ends of the Nike, Inc. empire with the help of skaters like Lance Mountain and Craig Stecyk. Those sorts of crossover events have now become commonplace, touching the Air Max 95, Air Jordan 4, and soon enough, Supreme’s Air Max CB94. Yet that initiative touching one of Nike’s most iconic all-time designs is reason enough to stop the presses, as studio shots of the Nike SB Air Force 1 Low hit the ‘net.
We’ve included background details in much of our coverage preceding this, but for the uninitiated, this is a shoe with some bona fide lore before it even touches down. The Nike SB Air Force 1 journey was initially tabbed to begin in 2025, according to early info, but reported SKUs eventually led to simple gum-soled pairs that held onto the usual AF1 tooling. With the “Light Orewood Brown/Pink Foam” edition at hand, it’s immediately apparent that’s not the case.
Additional padding in the ankles, a shorter overall build, and slouchier suede materiality stand immediately as innovations. Fabric tongues and textured laces add to the overall picture, while the lace dubrae (a touch that the AF1 helped popularize) shifts for the occasion, reading “SB-1.” Finally, in what’s sure to be an eye-catching touch, the heel cup closes with a dual “Nike SB Air” stamp. This finalizes what’s been an internal motive within Nike for some time, as skaters in the 2010s recieved promo/weartest samples of SB Dunk/AF1 hybrids that wore the latter’s uppers and the former soles.
The Nike SB Air Force 1 Low in “Light Orewood Brown” and “Pink Foam” should be touching down as a part of the Spring 2026 slate. Expect a $120 retail price upon arrival.
