Reinvention of staple shoes has been a massive theme over the past few years, and there’s no sign of it slowing down. On the Three Stripes side, that’s been visible as Brain Dead and CLOT have taken some of their true stalwarts and turned them into dress shoes. Looking elsewhere in the industry and into the future, New Balance’s loafers, Vans’ mules, or Nike’s “Squair Toe” Force 1s have kept that same energy in the consciousness. adidas is now getting back on the board with the help of Taiwanese label Invincible.
Where this latest collab advances the ball in terms of creative experimentation is by merging the world of slouchy, low-profile wear and formalized hardware. That’s blatantly evident with an all-black reinvention of the adidas Samba, bringing sawtooth edges onto the Samba’s panels and pairing that with a ruched, elasticized foot entrance.

Paging through the rest of the collection, two earthier counterparts lean on a more standard sporty sole unit but keep that same ruched composition, bridged to mainline editions by a contrast off-white heel cup on both the brown and beige. Finally, though it’s not our primary focus, this is also notable for marking the first adidas x Invincible apparel; a flight jacket, knit jerseys, track pants, and sweat pants make up that portion of this delivery.
The INVINCIBLE x adidas Consortium capsule drops first via INVINCIBLE channels via raffle, currently live and ending on November 14th at 12PM Taipei Standard Time. A global launch on November 13th via adidas Originals channels and on the CONFIRMED app. Note that the dress shoe is an Asia exclusive.
