The origins of skate fashion date back to the 1970s when boarders were simply looking to wear shoes and clothing that allowed them to practice and perform repeatedly. Without even trying, the sport of skateboarding has become a fashion phenomenon; skaters inadvertently influenced youth culture while revealing a blueprint for some of the most relevant brands today.
Particularly on a footwear front, skate shoes have often been adopted for casual wear for years, and at times the crossover goes in the opposite direction as we’ve seen adidas cleverly modify its most popular lifestyle classics as part of their ADV line. Amassing one of the more star-studded rosters of pro riders including the likes of Tyshawn Jones, Nora Vasconcellos, and the legendary Mark Gonzales, adidas Skateboarding has landed all of its tricks.
With a simpler construction, low-cut profile, and adherence to earlier decades, adidas Skateboarding shoes are as popular as ever, whether it be for doing kick-flips or for kicking around on a summer night. We’ve highlighted some our favorite models that are available right now on adidas.com, so without further ado…

The Samba phenomenon needs no introduction. The must-have lifestyle sneaker for what may be the third year in a row, the Samba brought its slim, low-pro construction to skateboarding as part of the brand’s ADV line. Less bulk provides more board-feel, which is why the Samba has been in circulation among skaters for decades, but adidas made sure to add a few tweaks like the upgraded T-toe with added Adituff reinforcement, a gripper cupsole, and a molded sockliner. But hey, even if you don’t skate, don’t hesitate to rock these with some slacks.
adidas is really flexing the strength of its archive with the revival of the LWST. Inspired by the durability of the Superstar, the LWST was tuned specifically for skate, with suede uppers and contrast stitching achieving that unique “skate shoe” look that the youth needs in this day and age. The cult favorite is now back in original colorways (like the green pair below) and modern styles, and they’re all available now from adidas.
The most decorated pro-skater in the adidas roster of athletes is none other than Tyshawn Jones, the Bronx native who earned the Skater Of The Year crown on two occasions. While he’s got a second signature shoe launching this summer, the Tyshawn Low delivers the same skate-friendly sensibility with the versatility to be rocked with a pair of baggy cargos or jeans. The “Blue Burst’ colorway stands out to us easily, but there’s plenty of other options available right now on adidas.com.
