Following a strange presidential winner announcement, the sneaker world had a handful of big news items thanks in large part to the folks over at NIKE, Inc.
Travis Scott hyped everyone up when his online webstore read the words “coming soon.” Given that the change in code coincided with the early launch of the PlayStation 5, fans anticipated a shot at a Nike Dunk Low co-branded by SONY. And while the people got what they wanted, they surely began to punch the air as they discovered that only five (5!) pairs were being raffled off to select eligible participants in the US. Although a wider launch may occur, pairs would almost certainly be scarcer than the average big drop. But for that reason, the Swoosh has prepped more propositions either on its own or with collaborators the likes of Cactus Plant Flea Market and Off-White.
Brand Jordan had a week of its own. Rumors of an early release of the Air Jordan 11 “Jubilee” started bubbling ahead of a Nike SNKRS event discussing the model’s 25 years of history. Rumors turned out true, but what was completely unexpected was the official announcement of the Air Jordan 11 Adapt, a self-lacing version of the storied Tinker Hatfield design. Pricing hasn’t been shared yet, but given the price-point of other Nike Adapt offerings, it’s likely the modified retro will arrive on December 30th with an MSRP of over $300 USD. Elsewhere under the Michael Jordan subsidiary’s umbrella, more pairs of the Jordan 1 were teased to the expected fanfare.
