Although the first month of the new year has been rather quiet with blockbuster releases, it’s delivered official images, launch date information and rumors pertaining to dozens of highly-anticipated pairs.
A handful of Air Jordan release dates were delayed, which have allowed countless sneaker collectors to let out a sigh of relief as they have more time to collect the necessary funds for upcoming takes of the Jordan 1, Jordan 4 and other models.
On the other side of NIKE, Inc.’s Oregon-based campus, more Nike Dunk colorways surfaced, suggesting Peter Moore’s 36-year-old design isn’t returning to obscurity any time soon. Alongside “Medium Curry,” “FREE.99” and “Dark Russet” iterations, a monochromatic duo was unveiled by UNDERCOVER. Elsewhere under the NIKE, Inc. umbrella, Nike Basketball (unofficially) unveiled a two-tone colorway of the peculiar Nike Cosmic Unity alongside product shots of the Kobe 6 Protro “All-Star.” The company’s Sportswear line unearthed the Air Max 96 II “Goldenrod” for the first-time ever in as close to original form as possible (although the Airbag at the heel is noticeably slimmer). Converse also made headlines with its TURBODRK Chuck 70 by none other than Rick Owens.
Away from NIKE, Inc., New Balance previewed a handful of collaborations with boutiques and brands from Europe. Once headquartered “across the pond,” Reebok also teased some of its joint-efforts for the new year, which have high expectations set upon them given how impressive the brand’s collaborative propositions were throughout 2020. ASICS and adidas also joined the mix, the latter revealing a Krusty Burger from “The Simpsons”-inspired ZX 10.000C.
