Eleven Can’t Miss Sneaker News Headlines from February 20th to February 26th

Eleven Can’t Miss Sneaker News Headlines from February 20th to February 26th

Although February is coming to a close, the shortest month of the year revealed some now-highly-anticipated sneakers for the remainder of 2021.

NIKE, Inc. unveiled one of the most eye-catching colorways to ever appear on the Air Jordan 1 through its partnership with the OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. In true “What The” fashion, the forthcoming pair – of which there are only 17 in existence – combines 14 Doernbecher Freestyle designs that’ve released since 2007. An initial auction for the retro fetched over $2 million USD, but a spokesperson for the brand shared that some bids were unverified, which has resulted in a rescheduling of the event. Nonetheless, it’s inevitable that the cause-supporting Air Jordan will raise a lot of money. Away from the fundraising proposition, Team Jumpman shared official looks at kid’s sizing of the Jordan 7 “Flint” and new compelling colorways of the performance-basketball-oriented Jordan 35.

Away from Brand Jordan, the Swoosh conglomerate continued keeping the Nike Dunk in mainstream consciousness via Nike SB collaborations, women’s-exclusives and plain-old impressive iterations. On the solo front, the brand has prepped spring-ready, multi-color styles for women and men via the previously-seen “FREE.99” collection. The ever-classic Dunk High “Syracuse” emerged in official images, which suggests a release date is near. Non-original “Oil Green,” “Photon Dust” and “Green Glow” tones were among the new color palettes to appear on Peter Moore’s 36-year-old design. Supreme‘s (faux) croc-skin collaboration also received a release date: March 4th. The Air Force 1 hasn’t slowed down with its release cadence, appearing in arrangements inspired by everything from playing cards to the NBA All-Star Weekend 2021. Similarly, Tinker Hatfield’s iconic Air Max 90 emerged in a handful of noteworthy styles, with the most eyebrow-raising one nodding to Japanese convenience mart chicken.

Elsewhere, adidas Yeezy unveiled a new colorway of the exciting Yeezy Quantum. Japan’s BAPE (A Bathing Ape) previewed a new adidas Superstar duo offers a classic and modernized take on the shell-toe. Under the greater Three Stripes umbrella, the Reebok Answer IV was rumored to return in its original colorway come March 12th. Allen Iverson’s classic Reebok Question also surfaced in mid and low-top heights.
